a closest focus of around 1 foot and a 1:1maximum magnification ratio make this nikon lens the ideal shooting partner for discovering and capturing the smallest subjects in intimate detail. the short-telephoto focal length of the nikon 105mm f2.8micro lens is perfect for achieving a tighter crop, while when the lens is mounted on smaller dx-format nikon dslrs, this focal length is magnified to an even longer equivalent of 157.5mm. a fast f2.8aperture can easily render the backgrounds of your pictures into a complete blur, so the eye of the viewer is automatically drawn to the main subject of your photograph.

while the fast f2.8maximum aperture of this nikon lens provides good handheld performance, the vr stabiliser which is also a feature takes this characteristic to the next level. you can confidently take your camera off the tripod and shoot freely, without camera shake ruining your pictures. af performance is quick enough to find a focus point without delay, while quiet enough to not cause a fuss in quiet environments, thanks to the inclusion of a silent wave motor. with one extra-low dispersion element in construction and both nano crystal and super-integrated lens coatings applied, the nikon 105mm f2.8micro lens promises one thing – sharp and detailed images under many different shooting constraints.
