this tamron prime lens, the 85mm f1.8vc usd, is the ideal tool to add to your dslr kit if you are looking to capture high-quality portraits under a wide range of shooting conditions. the short-telephoto focal length of this lens is perfect for tightly-cropped portraits, without you having to encroach upon the personal space of your subject, which allows them to feel comfortable and act accordingly. it is also suitable for use in the studio as well as out in the field. the fast maximum aperture of f1.8allows handheld shooting in dim conditions, but perhaps more importantly, it makes it easy to produce shallow depth of field in your pictures.

handheld, the tamron 85mm f1.8 excels, thanks to the inclusion of vc image stabilisation and its ability to reduce camera shake by up to 3.5stops. whether you will be concentrating mostly on stills or videos, or if you will be shooting a combination of both, the fast and quiet autofocus provided by the usd motor in the 85mm lens will be appreciated. moving subjects can be tracked easily, while the elimination of any annoying focus sounds assures a clean audio quality, for a more pleasing playback. as well as a premium optical construction and its resulting image sharpness, this lens has been built to high-standards physically, moisture-resistant to facilitate shooting in less-than-perfect weather, and with fluorine coating applied to protect the front lens element from damage.
